On Sept 2, 2022, the descendants of Japanese Canadians displaced during the Second World War gathered in front of the Mayne Island Museum. Joining them were current island residents who wished to share their connection to the island. The Centre for Japanese Research, Mayne Island Museum, and the Mayne Island Japanese Memorial Garden brought this group of people together to commemorate and collect stories of what had occurred over 80 years ago.
