Centre for Japanese Research Events Code of Conduct
The Centre of Japanese Research (CJR) events team at the University of British Columbia (UBC) is committed to fostering an inclusive, respectful, and welcoming environment through activities which embrace a spectrum of human attributes, perspectives, and disciplines in the study of Japan. CJR events have diverse audiences with multiple, intersecting identities, including differences in ability, race/ethnicity, socioeconomic status, age, position, gender, and more. These differences can be visible or invisible. Organizers and participants share a responsibility to create and maintain an environment which benefits all who take part. Staff, organizers, moderators, and participants are expected to treat each other with respect and consideration, follow venue rules, and alert moderators of any concerns.
We welcome your feedback and look forward to seeing you at future events!
